SOCIAL HOUSING PILOT PROJECT
Horodok, Khmelnytskyi region
Area: 1068 m²
Capacity: 24 apartments
Progress: 10 %
Status: design and research completed, renovation in progress
This facility is a new stage of CO-HATY. We're moving from restoring emergency temporary housing for IDPs to creating apartments for long-term residents in the community.
The two-story building we chose used to be a kindergarten, which the community is ready to transform into a housing stock. The large area makes accommodating apartments for different types of families possible.
The Horodok IDP Council plans to move into this building with people who are currently living in emergency shelters and plan to stay in the region and integrate into the local community.
We are engaged in developing design and estimate documentation for the reconstruction of a facility to change function, expertise, and the actual reconstruction of the building.
UNHCR is our leading partner in creating this social housing model, though we are now open to different types of cooperation. So, if you want to support the project financially, with materials or expertise, or get involved in other ways, please contact us!
